Working from home is convenient for days when you have a doctor’s appointment, have to run errands or just want a little extra shut eye. With the right BYOD and cloud solutions put in place, you employees’ will have no issues working from home.
However, although it can be ideal, working from home also makes it difficult to concentrate on your tasks. Here are a few tips to stay on track while working at home:
Have a schedule.
Whether you have reminders from your supervisor or a to-do list, often times you have a schedule at work. It may not be a tight schedule, but you still have an idea of what projects to work on. At home, there are a variety of factors that can distract you from your normal to-do list. Netflix, video games and TV shows are great examples. That is why making a schedule for yourself is important, and it will help you stay focused and motivated.
Work in a different space.
Let’s face it, working in an environment where you usually watch TV, hang out with your kids or cook can be distracting. Instead, create a space to use as your at-home office. This way, you won’t be as tempted to turn on the TV or create a concoction in the kitchen. If you find yourself getting distracted or tired, change up your location and go to a nearby coffee shop. You can order some coffee and the presence of other people will boost your energy.
Of course, a major benefit about staying home is staying in your pajamas. However, this can make you too comfortable and decrease your productivity. You can still dress for comfort, but add business casual to the mix to keep you focused.
